2020 was a momentous year for Suzuki as it celebrated the centenary of its establishment, and 60 years since its first foray into motorcycle road racing. The famed Japanese maker could not have chosen a better way to celebrate, taking rider and team championship in the prestigious MotoGP series, on a bike with a blue and silver scheme inspired by their 1960 GP racers of yore. The ultra-consistent Joan Mir secured the rider's championship in what was only his second season in the top MotoGP class, taking victory in the 13th race and second place in the 5th, 8th and 9th rounds. Team Suzuki Ecstar also finished the season ahead of its rivals at the pinnacle of the team championship to cap a truly remarkable year for the famed japanese manufacturer.

2020 adalah tahun yang bersejarah bagi Suzuki, bertepatan dengan perayaan satu abad dan 60 tahun kiprahnya di dunia balap motor. Pabrikan asal Jepang ini merayakannya dengan sangat spesial, menjuarai kejuaraan pembalap dan tim di ajang bergengsi MotoGP menggunakan warna motor biru dan perak yang terinspirasi dari GP 1960. Joan Mir dengan performa sangat konsisten menyabet gelar juara pembalap di musim keduanya di kelas teratas MotoGP. Menjuarai balapan ke-13, juara kedua di balapan ke-5, 8 dan 9. Tim Suzuki Ecstar juga menyelesaikan musim dengan posisi teratas, sekaligus menandai tahun yang sangat luar biasa bagi pabrikan Jepang ini.
