(LifeSiteNews) Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced plans for legislation to freeze handgun sales.

What this means is that it will no longer be possible to buy, sell, transfer, or import handguns anywhere in Canada,” Trudeau said at Monday’s press briefing.

“We’re capping the market for handguns,” he underscored.

Magazines for long-guns must also be altered to carry no more than five bullets. The legislation would also create a “red flag” law that allows for gun confiscation of individuals if a court deems someone a risk.
