Recently fans have been discussing the gravity music video and how lute might be in love with adam. Let’s talk about it.

So guitarspear has been a popular ship for a while but it’s really taken off after the release of gravity.

In particular some of lute’s lines can be interpreted as romantic. She talks about being the person to complete adam, and fans went crazy when she crawls over him.

Yesterday in an interview viv and alex gave some info that helps to clarify things. Adam isn’t actually there, he’s a manifestation of what lute sees him as in her mind. Her mental state is declining and as we saw throughout season 1 the other angels don’t take her seriously. Adam was the only one who supported her goal, and now that he’s gone this ghost version of him is filling that void.

Personally i’ve always seen guitarspear as one sided. Lute clearly has feelings for adam but he never bothered or cared enough to reciprocate them. When adam died the first thing lute did was cry by his side, and take his halo and wears it on her arm. She probably returned later to get his axe guitar as well.

With this new version of adam it’s a way of keeping him alive, but they’re able to put a spin on his character a bit. Maybe this idealised version in lute’s head does actually love her, and it’ll be interesting to see that play out.
