North American Economic Security in an Era of Geopolitical Uncertainty

Описание к видео North American Economic Security in an Era of Geopolitical Uncertainty

Join the Americas Program and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce for a discussion on the opportunities to strengthen North American economic security in an era of geopolitical uncertainty.

The economies of the United States, Canada, and Mexico, are highly integrated and underpinned by the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Together, Canada, the United States, and Mexico comprise almost a third of global GDP. As governments and companies alike increasingly prioritize economic resilience and security in response to larger geopolitical forces, there are significant opportunities for enhancing cross-continent trade and investment to the mutual benefit of all three countries.

This event will bring together former trade negotiators from the three USMCA countries who will discuss the state of North American cooperation and integration as well as opportunities and challenges in the lead up to the 2026 USMCA review. It will also investigate the growing relevance of North American economic security as a shared policy objective, delve into the political context, pathways to greater economic integration, as well as the major risks and opportunities facing businesses, among other key issues.

This event is made possible by the general support of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
