When it gets windy the only sailing I can do is in my 44 year old £100 laser. With 40 knot winds I always like the idea of getting a personal speed record. I managed 15.3 knots on my gps watch and 17 mph on the go pro built in gps. I'm not entirely sure what the world record is, let me know in the comments. Sailing does not have to be an expensive hobby and a cheap vintage laser can provide hours of fun on the water. We have got many of our club members sailing in old beat up lasers. 17mph is my record to beat. Until next time........
