Maxus MIFA 9 EV Review - Select Car Leasing

Last half term, we took the mighty MIFA 9 from Maxus on a road trip to the Lake District. Oozing with tech and quality, this all-electric 7-seater 'fun bus' was a hoot 🗻🚙🛶

The MIFA 9 from Maxus is a stylish, all-electric MPV that offers seats for seven people and a range of up to 273 miles between charges.

The name ‘MIFA’, by the way, is an acronym of the words, ‘Maximum, Intelligent, Friendly and Artistic’.

In case you’re not familiar with the brand, Maxus is a manufacturer perhaps best-known for producing light commercial vehicles like the eDeliver 3 and eDeliver 9 panel vans.

But Maxus - owned by China’s SAIC Motor and who also controls the revived and rejuvenated MG brand - also offers passenger vehicles to lease customers.

The MIFA 9 is a rival to other all-electric MPVs like the Peugeot e-Rifter, Vauxhall Vivaro Life Electric and the premium Mercedes-Benz EQV.

And with technology like adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist fittest as standard on all models, the MIFA 9 has much to offer.

There are three trim levels available to lease - ‘Elite’, ‘Luxury’ and ‘Premium’. As you move up the range, more and more creature comforts are unlocked.

For example, with the top-end Premium models you can expect luxuries such as an electric sunroof at the front and rear, heated leather steering wheel, heated seats with massage function, privacy glass and an automatic tailgate.

The MIFA 9 is powered by a 90 kWh battery that not only unlocks a range of 273 miles but also supports rapid charging that’ll replenish the energy from 20-80% in just 30 minutes. There’s also a healthy amount of power - with 245 PS and 350 Nm of torque enabling brisk acceleration.

And because the MIFA 9 is all-electric, business lease customers will pay just 2% Benefit in Kind (BIK) company car tax up until the 2024/25 financial year, while motorists also enjoy lower fuel costs than with a traditional petrol or diesel MPV.
