What is a noun?
A noun is a word that refers to a thing , a person , an animal , a place, a quality, an idea, or an action. It's usually a single word, but not always: cake, shoes, school bus, and time and a half are all nouns.
Singular & Plural Nouns
A singular noun refers to one person, place, or thing. The type of noun that refers to more than one person, place, or thing is known as a plural noun. Singular nouns always use singular verbs (such as is, was, and walks) while plural nouns use plural verbs (such as are, were, and walk).
