Blood: Blood in your urine, also known as hematuria, can be caused by a number of health problems, including:

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) or kidney infections (pyelonephritis)

Kidney stones

Bladder or kidney cancer

Enlarged prostate

Inflammation of the bladder, urethra, prostate, or kidney (glomerulonephritis)

Injury to the bladder or kidney

Strenuous exercise, such as long-distance
running or high-intensity interval training

Physical injury to the urinary tract, such as from a vehicle accident or bad fall

Taking certain medications, such as rifampin (Rifadin, Rimactane), phenazopyridine (Pyridium), warfarin, ibuprofen, deferoxamine, or hydroxocobalamine

Food: Beets, blackberries, and rhubarb can turn urine red or pink
