Doris Charest Art: Great Books on Abstracting Nature for Painters

Описание к видео Doris Charest Art: Great Books on Abstracting Nature for Painters

Over the years, I have continuously experimented with media. I added ink to my watercolors. I added wasp nests pieces to my collages. I experimented with different papers. I added string, plaster or wire to different pieces. This show is about my love of experimenting and the paintings that resulted from that.
Nature and the people in her life are my main inspirations. Capturing memories of my experiences in a way that a camera cannot, my paintings invite you to explore the subject; quietly discovering what is really there.
My interest in painting started when my husband was transferred to Texas and my neighbor took me to a painting class to pass the time. This led to a passion for painting that has never stopped. I took classes in Texas, Arizona, Quebec and Alberta. My attraction to texture and color is due to my growing up on a farm in northern Alberta where fields of wheat, canola and flax provided colors for my palette even then. They are the fuel for the memories I use for my paintings.

Mixed media is my favorite form of painting. I love the variety of media because it helps tell stories. When creating a painting, I have a story in mind but I also wants the viewer to create their own story or relationship with the painting and evoke memories for them. My courses on Mixed Media are now available online at sites called: Udemy.com and Skillshare.com. Join me in the joys of creating mixed media.
