Interview: Vendor Management

What is the role of a Vendor Manager? In clinical research, Vendor Managers are in charge of overseeing and managing third-party vendors who provide services to the sponsor. They are in charge of evaluating vendors and ensuring that the clinical trial objectives, budget, and timeline are met. Vendor Managers must also keep an eye on the vendors throughout the course of a trial to ensure that they are meeting the expectations outlined in the contracts. When working with third-party vendors, Vendor Managers ensure that risk is properly managed.
