New York City is known for its diverse and inclusive community that celebrates many cultures, and on April 6th, it was no different. As the sun set, members of the Muslim Officers Society, interagency partners, and the community came together at 1 Police Place to break their fast during Ramadan, also known as iftar. President of New York Turkish American Center Erol Akyurek and board members were there to support this meaningful event, and it was also a proud moment for the community as Ibrahim Duman received an award from the NYPD.
This event brought people from all backgrounds together to share in this important tradition and to strengthen community bonds.
