Women did get right to vote along with men. It was long, hard journey. Below are years when women got right to vote in some countries.

The visualization shows the countries with highest percentage of women in the national parliament. Initially, European countries had more women in the Parliament but over years African and Latin American people are sending more women to their respective Parliaments.
According to the UN stats, there are currently 3 countries which have more than 50% representation of women in their parliament. Interestingly, all 3 countries are not from the developed world and they are Rawanda, Cuba and Bolivia.
Women are being empowered.
