Gate stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and it is taken in order to test candidates understanding of various subjects in Engineering/Technology and Architecture. It is a computer based examination and It is considered valid until 3 years from the date of result. Students who are aspiring to study in colleges like
IITs, IISC and NITs, mostly take this entrance exam.
