14.3 Voltaic vs Electrolytic Cells | High School Chemistry

Описание к видео 14.3 Voltaic vs Electrolytic Cells | High School Chemistry

Chad provides a comprehensive lesson comparing and contrasting Voltaic Cells (a.k.a Galvanic Cells) and Electrolytic Cells. They are compared and contrasted in terms of spontaneity, the production/consumption of electricity (i.e. current), the flow of electrons between the electrodes and the signs of the relative potentials on the anode and cathode. The incorporation of a salt bridge in voltaic cells as well as the reason for its necessity is also covered. A brief overview of how two specific batteries, the lead storage battery and the hydrogen fuel cell, work is also included. The lesson concludes with a description of how to quickly and easily predict the products of the molten electrolysis of binary salts.

I've created a high school chemistry page that organizes all my videos by chapter - just an easier way for you to watch my YouTube videos. Check it out at https://www.chadsprep.com/chads-high-...
