Ein Tag als Chemiestudent an der RWTH Aachen University

Hey, I’m Felix and this is about my everyday life as a chemistry student in the 4th semester at RWTH Aachen. Have fun watching the video and I’d be glad if you leave comments, a “thumbs up” or even subscribe to my channel.

Obviously it’s nothing natural to get up as early as I did in the Video. But if you enjoy running in the morning, while also having a one hour drive to University that’s how it is. Living in the city center is time-saving for sure so don’t be discouraged by the time I have to get up 😛
In 4th semester we have lectures in the morning and afterwards we do laboratory experiments until afternoon. That might sound stressful but it is also a thing a really like about chemistry: Theoretical input and practical experience are closely connected! Before doing experiments we always have a pre examenition about how and why the experiment works and are also asked about the security measures we have to take. Ultimately there should be nothing catching fire or even explode. At least if we don’t want it to 😉
After the laboratory experiment we have to write a protocoll of it in the evening or learn for the next experiment. But of course you don’t always get to bed as late as in the video. But if you dally around as I often do that might just happen!

I hope I was able to give you a good impression of being an RWTH chemistry student.

Hey, ich bin Felix und das ist ein Video über meinen Alltag als Chemiestudent im vierten Semester an der RWTH Aachen University. Viel Spaß beim Video und lasst mir einen Kommentar, einen Daumen hoch und ein Abo da, wenn euch das Video gefallen hat.
Natürlich ist es ungewöhnlich so früh wie im Video aufzustehen. Aber wenn man morgens gerne läuft und dann auch noch eine Stunde Fahrt von der Uni entfernt wohnt ist schon mal so. Wenn man in der Stadt wohnt ist es wesentlich entspannter... also lass´ dich davon nicht abschrecken :P . Im vierten Semester hat man morgens Vorlesungen und mittags bis nachmittags Laborpraktikum. Und das ist das Schöne am Chemiestudium: Theorie und Praxis sind eng verknüpft. Vor jedem Experiment führt man ein Gespräch in dem die Theorie zu dem Versuch und die Sicherheit abgefragt werden. Man soll ja schließlich nichts explodieren lassen. Nach der Laborpraxis schreibt man abends ein Versuchsprotokoll oder lernt für das nächste Experiment. So spät wie im Video kommt man natürlich auch nicht immer ins Bett. Wenn man aber mal trödelt kann das schon mal passieren. Und mindestens ganau so schön: neue Leute kennen zu lernen und am Wochenende auf Partys gehen (wenn man drauf steht).
