2022 Silverado LTD 2.7L Turbomax 4 Cylinder 96,000 mile UPDATE & PSA (L3B/L2R)

The GM L3B Turbomax 2.7L motor has been known to consume oil. I recommend checking the oil level frequently and changing it out sooner and more frequently than the OLM says. My experience with this motor is it burns between 1 and 1.5 quarts of oil over the course of an oil change of 5,000 miles. I top it off every 1000 miles or so to keep the level normal. I have checked it once and the oil level didn't even register on the dipstick! It is not leaking, anywhere, I have done a thorough inspection of the engine, and there are no drip marks anywhere that I can see. I recently switched to a high mileage oil to see if that helps with the oil consumption.

The motor RPO code is mostly L3B, but also seen as L2R in some work truck models on the 2023+ Colorado/Canyon
