Webinar: Adductor Canal Blocks

Dr. Brandon Winchester reviews that adductor canal blocks are a novel regional anesthesia technique for major knee surgery that has emerged over the last several years. While adductor canal blocks provide similar rapid onset analgesia compared to traditional femoral nerve blocks, their advantage vs. femoral blocks is that they spare the quadriceps muscles and therefore do not result in motor weakness in the leg.

The quality pain control with improved muscle strength seen with adductor canal blocks can facilitate early postoperative ambulation and rehabilitation, helping patients meet discharge criteria sooner.
