The city of Auburn now enjoys a new 7-story parking garage that adds beauty and function to the downtown areas thanks to the skill and craftsmanship of Gate Precast.

Constructing the complex Write Street Parking Deck in the heart of the city on an extremely tight site were only two of the challenges.

The city of Auburn requires the use of a brick called the “Auburn Blend” on all city projects. The brick is only made as a full-sized brick.

This obstacle required Gate to work closely with the supplier to manufacture and cut down the traditional brick into a thin brick format for precast application.

Each of the 60,000 brick used was hand-checked and placed in the mold to meet design requirements and tolerances.

In just under 1 year, this $14 million dollar project has added 351 parking spaces to serve the business district as well as the Auburn University Baptist Student Ministry.

Gate Precast once again created a functional and aesthetically pleasing structure with the strength and durability only precast can offer.
