NBA 2K14 (PS3) Path to Greatness: Dynasty Part 5

It's evident we're not going to boatrace this team. I'll give props to my guys for their activity on the ball causing trouble. We're running on them with abandon when we can. Our offense has more structure to involve others, we're jumping after boxouts. Sign of slippage sent me to the huddle instructing Bron to not stray from Steph. We're gonna outscore him and personally keep him from catching up. One hypothesis I haven't answered yet is about the speed of attack. Do I wait for the right play to develop like the Bosh kickout to Wade? Do I rush in to draw contact like LeBron is known for? What's not up for debate is how I scrambled to compare his FG% to Steph's on his second miss.

Shooting 67% as a team up a measly 6 portended what was waiting in the 2nd half. The halftime broadcaster called out Golden State's usual 3pt outturn not being there.. 3rd quarter was frantic, giving way to steals and deflections that generally went their side. I don't know how common it comes into play but Curry stashed onto Battier foiled my LeBron PG deployment. 40-29 went poof in a 9-0 sprint. I think overdoing the mismatch post-up was part of the downfall. LeBron being blocked at the pass multiple times (especially robbed on his double clutch reverse dunk) should not go unmentioned. I was supposed to score easy points with him I see KDC racking up on command.

Back on defense, Bosh follows a Klay screen towards the FT line while Norris Cole is too deep to notice Steph roaming behind them. That play is lethal; I need to know how much the Warriors ever ran that. Just a massive blunder when you're ahead by five 🤦🏻‍♂️ The hits kept on coming. Steph blocks a shot, tricks me with a off-ball cut, and walks past press into a lead-taking splash. Harrison Barnes detonated on AI DWade. I wanted to be extra sure I had Bron's free throw release down but missed both late. He vacated the corner so Asik could put back up a Curry three for the layup unchallenged. I was playing it like there was 30 seconds left with 2:10 to go. The CPU 1) isn't thrown off guard and 2) knows the holes in human player movement to trigger an animation. That's how Iggy turbos past LeBron to put in the dagger finish. The futility of my centers to neither double Steph properly nor address the big running past is such a sore spot. Klay does the GS fuck you aka shooting a three with 10+ seconds on the clock, and Asik is there to bail him out.

At least there was some fun late-game drama to save my embarrassment. Clean looks for Ray until he ran out of gas🪫 This is going to take more out of me than the Rockets two tries
