Spared by wars and revolutions, Chartres Cathedral, whose construction began in the 12th century, is by far the most complete and well-preserved gothic monument in France today. Built in just 30 years, it is also distinguished by the consistency in its style. In 2008, a major renovation program was undertaken to restore the famous stained glass windows and the exceptional Choir Tower to their former glory. This episode is a journey of discovery at a time when exceptionally skilled craftsmen are restoring this symbolic gothic French monument.
