Blue Ridge Parkway Cleanup

Описание к видео Blue Ridge Parkway Cleanup

A crew of volunteers from Friends Of The Blue Ridge Parkway spent much of Saturday clearing a 2100 foot stretch of drainage ditch. Workers removed overgrowth and mud, so water will make its way into a concrete culvert, instead of under the road. Too much rain seeping beneath the pavement was one of the things that caused a 300 foot long crack in the Parkway last month. That forced officials to close it between Bull Gap and Mt. Mitchell. A bypass will be completed by Labor Day weekend, so that the 20 miles now shut down can be reopened. By Frank KracherFollow Frank on Twitter @FrankKracher
