Today we’re doing a feature roundup of the Polk Audio Reserve R700 - a premium-grade 3-Way Bass Reflex floorstanding speaker. The floorstander is part of the brand’s top-of-the-line Reserve series.

Starting from the top, the R700 floorstanding speaker integrates a 1" Pinnacle Ring Radiator Tweeter that features a finely tuned waveguide to improve the sound dispersion of high frequencies and deliver a wide “sweet spot”. This is followed by a 6.5" Turbine Cone midrange driver in a sealed chamber for detailed mid presence and sharpness. Finally, the R700 floorstanding speaker sports dual 8" Polypropylene woofers for a powerful and tight bass output.

The result of this combination is an audiophile-grade floodstander that is certified for Hi-Resolution playback, Dolby Amos certified and IMAX Enhanced certified content. Thanks to a high quality 3-way crossover, the speaker is designed, tuned and optimized to deliver a frequency response between 38Hz upto 37kHz and a sensitivity of 88dB.

One of the stand out features of the R700 is the Power Port 2.0 flooring-firing vents that deliver deep, louder, and cleaner bass while minimizing turbulence, distortion, and port noise. The floorstanding speaker sits on top of high-quality feet for isolation from the floor, to minimize rattling and to help the bass ports to do their job more effectively.
