Shoguns are among my favourite 4x4s - Strong, capable and reliable - The Shogun is all of these things and more. Our 2005 LWB "Elegance" model has the added benefit of being a full 7 seater with a 3.2 litre diesel which offers superb power and torque via a superb 5 speed automatic gearbox.

Shoguns have selectable all-wheel drive as well as 'diff locks and low ratio gearing. They are a serious bit of kit which is built to last. The specification on this example includes side steps which have built in lighting and a full leather interior. It has a generous specification including rear entertainment system with a built in playstation. What is unusual about this particular car, is that it has had just 1 previous owner (Originally registered to their buinsess - A London based solicitors before being transfered to the private ladys personal address). It is also one of the few Shoguns I have seen that does not have a towbar fitted, so it has never had any hard work which explains why it still drives like new... It is also the only one I have seen in many years that still has its original rear load cover, which is still in excellent condition.

These are big and rugged-looking cars with an excellent specification. If you want 7 seats, a large boot and a comfy interior then this could well be your perfect car. If you require something that will tow a caravan this spring, even better as the Shogun has a mammoth 3300kg towing capacity. There is a spacious and comfortable, leather clad interior. When it comes to off-road ability, the Shogun will embarrass most of it rivals. It's a big car, with a spacious interior and a huge estate-boot when the rear-most seats are folded into the boot floor. It doesn't really matter if your looking for a 4x4, a tow car, a large estate car, or just a big and comfy executive saloon - the Shogun is all those things and more... Its rugged styling and aggressively purposeful stance are guaranteed to turn heads wherever you go.

I have previously owned several Shoguns and always enjoy driving these cars . This car has the 158 bhp turbo-diesel, a vast improvement over the less powerful units fitted to earlier cars. This engine really is the only choice for this car - yes there is a petrol version but its far too thirsty and it does not run on E10 fuel making it a very expensive proposition. I would also suggest that the 5 speed automatic gearbox fitted to this car makes it a far more enjoyable vehicle that its manual equivalent. With this gearbox the Shogun is easy to drive and still highly capable. This particular car feels superb with smooth changes from the auto box and plenty of power throughout the rev range. It cruises happily at motorway speeds and above, something that the older models always struggled with.. Cruise control on the Elegance spec makes it all-the-more relaxing.

Of course there is no getting away from the fact this is a proper 4x4. It rides fairly high and has huge road-presence. Those side steps not only look good, they are actually quite useful if you wish to make a graceful entrance and exit. The driving position is excellent and I found the leather seats in this car to be extremely comfortable. There are centre arm-rests in both front and rear, which make it all the more comfortable. The huge glass sunroof floods the Shoguns interior with light. With the high driving position, comes an excellent view of the road for both driver and passengers -the kids will love the fact they are able to see over the hedges. Add to the mix a playstation to keep the kids entertained and you have the perfect family 4X4.

The interior and exterior of this car are in remarkable condition with only minor age-related wear you would expect on a 17 year old 4x4. In my opinion this model of Shogun is a seriously good looking car which matches muscular looks with genuine go-anywhere ability - I have had many Shoguns over the years and in my opinion nothing beats these cars in terms of value and ability. Mitsubishi have always been famed for their reliability and this model is one of their best. I really cannot recommend this car highly enough - it really does need to be seen and driven to be fully appreciated..
