The palm cockatoo is extremely rare. There are only 3,000 in existence, in part because they are very fussy about where they nest. Female palm cockatoos have a long list of requirements. To start with, the nests must be hollows in large old-growth trees which are hard to come by. This male is looking for a mate. But first, he has to prove he's the owner of some prime real estate.
