It is a narrative, self-praise, chant, a "who-am-I?" kind of thing, a tool to face the hostile world. This is the most dominant Luo literary genre called Pakruok. Here it occurs in another familiar form, a joke, a big lewd joke. The man describes himself as Awil Cork, the Star (Sulwe), the hardiest tree that pries into thighs... and then there is an explosion. He has not said anything bad, but the imagery betrays him, and he gives himself female names, like Nyasembo!
