It is therefore imperative to understand its process, and implications, for our everyday lives. The world of Artificial Intelligence can be connected to multiple fields and industries. Moreover, this self learning, adaptive technology can be described as the future of our species, opening new doors and inspiring innovation in an ever-changing world. Dr. H.R. Tizhoosh is a Professor in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Waterloo since 2001 where he leads the KIMIA Lab (Laboratory for Knowledge Inference in Medical Image Analysis). Starting in 1993, his research activities encompass artificial intelligence, computer vision, and medical imaging. He has developed algorithms for medical image filtering, segmentation, and search. Presently, he is the AI Advisor of Huron Digital Pathology, St. Jacobs, ON, Canada. As well, he is a faculty affiliate to the Vector Institute, Toronto, where he leads a pathfinder project on using AI in radiology. Dr. Tizhoosh is also a member of the Waterloo AI Institute.
