He hears them still, in dreams…

He draws his father's face
from stories whispered by his mother
from tears, and words never spoken aloud.

He came back…but not whole.
His eyes hold the ghosts of brothers lost.
He flinches at shadows, breathes in flashbacks.
Blood no longer scares him… but memory does.
He can't feel the sun .
