How to Use MIN Function in Excel

In this Excel Function Explained video series, I am going to explain, how to use MIN function in excel. Excel MIN function is a built-in excel function to find out the smallest or the minimum value in a data range in excel. Using MIN function, you’ll be able to extract the smallest value from a selected range and place it on a different cell. Remember MIN function doesn’t consider Logical value and text as input. Let’s learn how to use MIN formula in excel.
The Function looks like this = MIN (Number 1, Number 2, ….)

The MIN function has only one argument or parameter.
1. Number: This is the data range from where MIN function will return minimum value. You’ll be able to add up-to 255 values inside this function. You’ll be able to add data range, single cell number or even write values inside the function as long as you separate them with comma.

This is how we use MIN in excel. Remember, using MIN function in excel you actually tell excel formula to return the smallest value from a data range.
