'What is this thing' Ep 12: PHEV Battery Dress Conveyor

In this episode of 'What Is This Thing', our Project Engineer, Saleem chats to us about the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) Battery Dress Conveyor designed and manufactured by S4.

Different conveyors require different configurations to meet our customers' needs and requirements. For this conveyor, consideration was made to the weight of the battery and being able to return the pallet to the start of the line while keeping the design as compact as possible.

Two types of chains are used in this system:
⛓ The first one is a deep link chain the pallets rest on in the stations that the operator works on, which run at a very low speed with the spacing between the pallets controlled.
⛓ The second type of chain is a roller chain which allows the pallets to roll on the top surface of the chain so that they can accumulate in the buffer areas.
