At the end of the 19th century, the concept of a “Monarchical Church” was established from three ideas: the exaltation of the Papacy, an increased respect for the Hierarchy, and the obedience of the Faithful. These represented a victory for the Counter-Revolution: a victory against the Protestant Revolution that denied the Papacy, a victory against the French Revolution that launched itself against the Monarchy in the State and in the Church, and a victory against the liberal Catholic movement in the 19th century.
        By a curious irony of History, after the installation of progressivism in the directive bodies of the Church with Vatican Council II, these same characteristics came to play a role that worked in an opposite sense and served the self-destruction of the Church.
        Using this acquired prestige, the Post-Conciliar Popes spread different principles that clashed with earlier pontifical teachings. Previously condemned documents were being taught and what was wrong came to be right; what was certain came to be uncertain. The dogmatic constitutions of the Council of Trent and the anathemas against liberalism are set aside.
The relative acceptance of these changes by almost the whole Catholic body came from the previously mentioned factors: papal prestige, the strength of the Hierarchy, and the obedience of the faithful.

Following the example of St. Paul, Catholic journalists make a public statement of resistance to the teachings of the Council and of the Popes that are objectively opposed to the Magisterium. The Statement of Resistance intends to be an invitation for a respectful dialogue. The work lays out an objective analysis of the consequences of ecumenism and the adaptation of the Church to the modern world, as applied since the Council. The authors affirm that this position implies neither the desire to judge the Pope or to declare the Apostolic See vacant. They base their act on Doctors of the Church, among them St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Robert Bellarmine.
