Hobie BOS 2023: New River Tournament Recap | PB Smallmouth Bass and a Bear | Kayak Fishing Day 1!

Y'all! I drove 17 hours from Texas to fish the Hobie BOS on the New River in West Virginia, and it DID NOT disappoint. Bears...CHECK. PB Smallie...CHECK. Cashed a check....CHECK. First top TEN finish....CHECK.

The New River is as old as TIME! It's widely known as one of the oldest rivers in the world, and it flows NORTH. It's home to giant smallmouth bass, muskies, walleye, and even a few largemouth bass mixed around in there somewhere. If you ever get the chance, drop by and go fishing!

The Hobie Bass Open Series (HBOS) is a national kayak fishing tournament series with multiple open events and one Tournament of Champions (TOC). With events taking place at some of the most incredible bass fisheries in the country, anglers have the opportunity to compete for big payouts, bragging rights, and the opportunity to represent their country at Hobie Fishing Worlds.
