Описание к видео How to install carpet over vinyl tile.

In this video, I show you how I installed carpet over vinyl tile. This vinyl tile had some old carpet glued overtop. I didn’t want to disturb the tile, in case asbestos was present, so I covered and sealed any broken and exposed areas with a self leveling compound.
When laying the foam padding in the video, I had the fibered side laying face down on the ground. Supposedly, this is not a big deal but the proper way is laying it with the fibered side face up. My Mistake.

The carpet used was Finton style with a Cape Cod color from home depot, which ran about $350 for this 12ft by 12ft room.
The ⅜ inch foam padding was about $80, also from home depot. The next size up they had at ⅝ inch was over $200.
The peel and stick tack strips were $5 for packs of 4ft from home depot.
The other surprisingly expensive tool is a knee kicker. The cheapest knee kicker I could find was about $24 at harbor freight.
Total cost with tools was around $500 - $550.

About me: Hi! My name is Dane and I’m a stay at home Dad. I absolutely love staying at home with my two little boys. Since I started spending time at home with my boys, I’ve learned to DIY just about everything around the house to save money. In the last few years I’ve done an endless amount of projects during nap time including remodeling 3 bathrooms. I’ve also insourced other things like giving my dogs haircuts, making simple foods from scratch, landscaping projects, and more. I’ve realized how much money I save by doing home projects on my own, so I want to show you simple (and some more complicated) things that you can do too! I want to empower you to take some risks and learn something new – whether you want to save some cash, or just to have the satisfaction of completing the project yourself. Note: In the description, I’ve linked some of my favorite items that I use for my projects. Full disclosure - if you click these links and make a purchase, I get a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only will recommend products that I actually use and need! Thank you for the support. I hope you enjoy following along with my adventures as a DIY dad.
