Foreman 1.14 release highlight - EUI-64 compute resource support

Описание к видео Foreman 1.14 release highlight - EUI-64 compute resource support

When setting up an IPv6 subnet in Foreman, the IPAM or addressing mode can be set to EUI-64. This allocates IP addresses based on the MAC address of the host being created.

When creating a host, under the Interfaces tab, select the IPv6 subnets on all of the interfaces that need it. This host is being created on a compute resource so it doesn't need a MAC address specified, this will be provided by the compute resource itself.

The compute resource will assign a MAC address using its standard mechanism, in this case it's Libvirt which has a standard prefix. The MAC address will be retrieved from the compute resource and the IPv6 address is calculated from the MAC address.

This is also done before normal orchestration actions - so you can see that DNS entries have been created using the MAC address and the computed IPv6 address from the compute resource.
