Assembly elections are due in Jammu and Kashmir this year and PM Modi’s first visit after forming his third government assumes significance in this backdrop. Since 2018, Jammu and Kashmir has not had an Assembly and Governor’s Rule was imposed after the BJP ended its alliance with PDP.
