Ramon's Asymod Kenwood TS 890 Hi Fi Asymmetrical AM & eSSB

Описание к видео Ramon's Asymod Kenwood TS 890 Hi Fi Asymmetrical AM & eSSB

Take look at the Asymod 7, Kenwood TS-890, Hi-Fi Asymmetrical AM & eSSB Transceiver. This unit comes with the Asymod StandAlone.

Once again Asymod continues to break the AM modulation limitations presented by this great transceiver.

This Kenwood TS-890 will transmit in Hi-Fi asymmetrical AM, eSSB and to the widest allowed in FM throughout all bands.

The external mounted Asymod 7 defeats a set limitations presented by the Kenwood TS-890, such as:

• AM TX bandwidth
• SSB TX bandwidth
• ALC
• Minimum carrier 5 watts
• Maximum AM modulation at ~70%
• Swings backwards on RMS RF power meter

Now you can set your audio frequency roll offs points as desired via the audio process and achieve maximum TX bandwidth in AM, SSB & FM. The carrier can be set from a .25 watt (250 mW) to 20 watts (It is not recommended to exceed a 10 watt carrier to allow for sufficient headroom. AM modulation can now be set to up to 250% positive modulation with the asymmetry control. The Asymod 7 allows this transceiver to swing forward on RMS power meters.

Multiband HF rigs employ low level AM modulation, have ALC restrictions and bandwidth limitations. With the Asymod we bypass all this and employ Hi Level AM modulation, directly driving the transceiver's RF finals. you put out what you put in! The better the audio

Some radio operators send their transceivers in for Asymod upgrades to have forward instead of backward movement on RMS RF power meters, to be able to use their valued transceivers properly on AM and sound great!

For proper operation throughout all the bands, settings on the Kenwood TS-890should be set to:

For AM Asymod enabled:
• RF POWER: 25W
• MIC GAIN: Minimum

Audio samples on this video are only for demonstration. Audio preferences and roll-off varies depending on the audio process settings and is up to the end user to adjust them as needed. The Asymod 7 is preset to roll-off at 20 dB/decade at ~15 kHz. Modification to the onboard low pass filters will allow for greater bandwidth.

This mod is available for all solid state HF transceivers.
