VIDEO DESCRIPTION - This painting tutorial will take you through easy to follow, step-by-step instructions on how to paint this fun and exciting seasonal portraiture landscape image of "EASTER GNOME" with an adorable energetic feel and storybook look to it. What comes to mind when you think of Easter? Warm weather, blue skies, decorative eggs, beautiful flowers, colorful clothing, a cute bunny? Well, this painting has it all and it’s perfect for welcoming in the spring season and all the joy and happiness that comes with it! You’ll learn how to paint this playful rendition of a mythological creature dressed up as an Easter Bunny holding a single vibrant egg in his lap, as he sits in the grassy foliage surrounded by daisies and many other multicolored ornamental Easter eggs. First, you’ll learn how to use simple painting techniques for blending the background for added depth and atmospheric dimension, using bright natural and inviting colors creating a spring feel to your canvas. Then, after drawing and outlining basic shapes to give your main character and all the surrounding objects form and structure, you’ll apply a simple base coat as a foundation for the painting process. You will then create realistic looking dimension with properly placed highlights and shadows, followed by layering colors to give your button-nose buddy full form in its head, arms and body. You will learn how to paint details on his hat, bunny ears, clothing, mitten-like hands, nose, and beard, as well as, all the Easter eggs, giving everything on the canvas a round form and realistic 3-D effect like a photograph. You’ll jump for joy when you see how easy it is to make your frolicking fantasy friend come alive with just a few colors, strokes, and outlines. You can personalize the type of hat or clothing he is wearing, what type of object he is holding, or the colors, to symbolize your favorite style or something that is meaningful to you. Maybe you paint your gnome holding a marshmallow peep, Reese’s peanut butter eggs, Jelly Beans, a chocolate bunny or Cadbury Eggs. Maybe you paint different spring flowers, such as, tulips, roses, pansies, or daffodils. Be bold and create a more dramatic scene by painting a sunset or sunrise, or you could even give your fictional fable friend a few companions and paint an elf or fairy, giving this painting a more fantasy feel. This is a painting inspired by the power of imagination, so feel free to use yours! Using only 2 brushes and 7 colors we'll create this conversational masterpiece that is sure to compliment any décor. So, let's get painting and let's get sipping!
