500hp LS 6.0L Engine Build Part 4 | AFM DoD Hardware Delete - Save Your Holden Commodore LS Engine

Описание к видео 500hp LS 6.0L Engine Build Part 4 | AFM DoD Hardware Delete - Save Your Holden Commodore LS Engine

In this episode, we take you through one of the most important preventative maintenance upgrades you can perform on your LS 6.0L as we delete the factory Active Fuel Management (AFM) or Displacement on Demand (DoD) hardware. This factory fitted hardware assembly includes a solenoid fitted valley plate, spring-enabled lifters and specially designed lifter buckets which must all be upgraded if you are planning on fitting a high lift camshaft and want your engine to survive - otherwise it will be a case of tick, tick, boom.

Our new valley plate cost approximately $300 new and is a standard LS 6.0L item and we will also be fitting LS7 lifters when our new camshaft arrives. This upgrade is part of a series of upgrades we are performing on our L77 6.0L platform for the new race engine we are building for our Holden Commodore VE SS track ute. We will shortly be upgrading the heads and camshaft with target power output in excess of 500hp normally aspirated.
