Why We Love Male Rage Cinema: Masculine Class Consciousness

I would consider myself a fan of movies, especially classics that are prevalent in pop culture. Recently, in preparation for the sequel (Joker: Folie a Deux), I revisited Joker 2019, and to be quite honest, I came away with a new perspective on it and films that it was inspired by, or is similar to. These films belong to a category of film I like to call “Male Rage Cinema”. Male Rage Cinema is a genre of film that allows men to live out their fantasies of rebelling against the system and finally taking off their masks of calmness and complacency. Its kinda similar to the sigma film worship except this one focuses more on lashing out rather than a power fantasy.


By the way, there's going to be light spoilers and mentions of the following movies: Fight Club, Joker (2019 , Falling Down, and Taxi Driver.
