🔓 How to Unlock The Final Test: Wonder Gauntlet

Before you even dive into the level, make sure you’ve done the groundwork:

Collect all 16 Wonder Seeds in the seven levels of the Special World (the eighth world unlock after finishing the main seven).

Clear the predecessor challenge: The Semifinal Test: Piranha Plant Reprise.

Once those conditions are met, the launch-pad to The Final Test appears in the Special World map.

Tip: If you don’t see the level appear, double-check for any missing seeds, secret exits, or full completion marks (flags/coins) in each Special World level. Many players report the unlock is blocked by a missing collectible.

🏁 What to Expect in the Level

The gauntlet combines nearly all of the major Wonder Flower effects you’ve encountered, cranked up to 11: moving/semi-solid platforms, poison swamps, shifting backgrounds, darkness segments, raining Super Stars, rolling Hoppos, Inchworm pipes, and more.

Some standout moments:

At the very start: you’ll hit the Wonder Flower and trigger a sequence where two sets of poison swamps appear (purple bottom, green top) and an Inchworm Pipe travels above the poison.

Mid-level: you’ll deal with darkness while Sproings extend, platforms become Totchī and start walking, diagonal flying “Wonder Missile Megs” appear, and you’ll need to ride a ship across poison while avoiding spikes/lightning.

Later: backgrounds tilt, Hoppos roll, Mienai Ashiba (invisible platforms) show up, Rolla Koopas skating across them, then at the end you’ll get a rain of Super Stars to dash through enemies toward the goal.

It’s fast-paced, it punishes hesitation, and it demands you stay sharp. Many players consider this one of the best (and toughest) levels in the game.

📍 Collectibles & Completion Requirements

If you’re going for 100 % or playing to unlock every badge or medal, don’t skip these:

Wonder Seeds

Seed #1: Obtained when the Wonder State ends, early section.

Flower Coins (Purple “10-Flower” Coins)

There are three of them in this course:

Behind a wall & pipe segment—activate a Wow Bud to lower the pipe and jump from the lift.

Under the area where Sproings are—use the drill power-up or navigate carefully when the screen dims.

Atop a semisolid platform in the Rolla Koopa section—use the Koopa shell or a jump from a Mienai Ashiba.

Flag-Pole Top & Full Completion

To fully “check off” the level you’ll also need to reach the very top of the goal pole. A dash-jump + spin in mid-air helps reach it.
