Exploring Scotland's Most Mysterious Abandoned House

Join me as I explore one of the best Abandoned House finds of 2024. Balrossie Orphanage, also known as Balrossie School, is a historic site located in Kilmacolm, Scotland. It was originally established in 1899 by the Sailors’ Orphans Society of Scotland to provide a home for the orphaned children of sailors. The building served this purpose until the 1960s, when it was converted into a residential school.

The school operated until the late 1990s, after which it was abandoned and has since fallen into disrepair. The site includes a Victorian-era orphanage, a two-storey villa annexe, and an old water tower. Despite several attempts to redevelop the property, including plans for housing, the building remains derelict and has suffered significant damage over the years, including from fires.
