This lovely, slightly overweight, sassy mare came in for preparation for her first Spring ride after having her winter off.

My Clear Mental Picture is for her to become attentive, obedient and respectful with a calm attitude.

I am watching her every thought and step and matching with her what is appropriate to give her the opportunity to choose better behavior.

I do not vary from this philosophy and I use it with every horse.

Right thing easy, wrong thing difficult, and do as little as possible to whatever it takes (within the boundaries of respect for the horse) to gain understanding.
