Kentucky Derby weekend is finally here, and back on schedule in 2021. The Run for the Roses -- and the huge weekend of thoroughbred racing that comes with it in Louisville has to be enjoyed with the most famous of all Derby Day drinks.. The Mint Julep.

Y'all will need these things:
1 Stainless Steel Cup (or Moscow Mule Cup)
Jigger
Muddler
Swizzle Stick (or something long to stir)
Ice (Crushed preferred)
Real Mint
Simple Syrup
Kentucky Bourbon

Instructions:
Add 1/2 oz of Simple Syrup to the glass
Add 8 - 10 Mint leaves to the glass
Muddle the Mint (Gently, we aren't crushing it)
Add 3/4 of the cup size in crushed ice
Add 2.5 oz of Kentucky Bourbon
Stir
Add more crushed ice on top (create a dome)
Make a hole in the ice on the side to add Mint leaves with stems
Add a straw in the hole by the leaves
