A huge pioneer to how quarterbacks play in the NFL today, Rich Gannon was drafted by the New England Patriots, but traded to the Minnesota Vikings in 1987, and he retired in 2004 because of a neck injury. His best season was 2002 with 26 touchdowns to 10 interceptions, 4,689 yards passing, 418 out of 618 passes completed, 50 rushes for 156 yards with 3 touchdowns, and he won the NFL MVP. The second and only Oakland Raiders player to win an MVP.
