Ukraine is the ninth largest country in the world in terms of the number of Internally Displaced Persons. Following the start of conflict in eastern Ukraine and the illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014, the Government of Ukraine reports some 1.5 million IDPs. Since the onset of the conflict, the United Nations Refugee Agency has been working for the protection of IDP’s rights.
