Doctor of Philosophy Program in Medical Physics and Medical Engineering (International Program) MPME

The PhD Program in Medical Physics and Medical Engineering (Interational Program), or MPME, aims to produce PhD graduates who will become researchers and innovators in the field of medical physics and medical engineering. Medical physics employs physical concepts for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of human disease, while medical engineering applies engineering principles and design concepts to medicine and biology for healthcare purposes. With the combination of medical physics and medical engineering, students will have a broad perspective from the design, development to the application of medical equipment and medical technology.

The direct connection of our PhD program to Chulabhorn Hospital will give students the opportunity to be exposed to the clinical environment from the very early stage of their study. They will get first-hand experience with medical equipment and technology that drive the health care services, which will allow them to conduct state-of-the-art research projects that will truly benefit the health care industry and patients.

Our PhD Program have research-based study plans. Each student will have an individual study plan (ISP), designed between the student and the PhD advisors. With our multi-disciplinary faculty staff, students will have the opportunity to select a research project from a wide range of key research areas.
