Johnny Mathis ~ Somewhere

Описание к видео Johnny Mathis ~ Somewhere

From Johnny's 1964 album, "Tender Is The Night", his second with Mercury records. This exquisite ballad from the Broadway production of West Side Story, music and lyrics by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, is quintessential Johnny Mathis. It's been written that Johnny 'caresses' his music. We hear his vulnerable quality in this heartfelt ballad - along with Johnny's signature, beautiful vocal crescendos. Johnny, with the assistance of wonderful arranger Don Costa, brings the story of longing to life of two star-crossed Romeo and Juliet type lovers expressing their love and yearning to find a way past the prejudices in their world and into a life together. The original recording reached #13 on the Billboard charts and is a classic Mathis piece to own - full of rich, beautiful ballads. This album was remastered and re-released, by Real Gone Music in 2012 (by special arrangement with Sony Music and Johnny Mathis) as a double CD set with another classic from 1964, "Wonderful World of Make Believe", also from Johnny's Mercury period. Available in CD format for the first time in nearly 50 years. Fabulous online reviews. Please enjoy!
