Samsung Internet 16.0 Update Adds Pinch to Zoom, Protects Against Transparent Pixel Tracking, & More

Samsung has just announced version 16.0 of its web browser Android app and it comes with new features like a pinch to zoom gesture, an updated web engine, transparent pixel tracking protection, and enhanced search suggestions.

Samsung Internet is the company's web browser application for Android. The application is currently at version 15 but the latest update has just been announced and is currently in testing.

The biggest new feature that most people are likely to see is the enhanced search suggestions. The app's address bar will now provide a list of possible results while also reordering them for ease of use.

Transparent Pixel Tracking protection is another new feature that is baked into the app (no need to enable this feature) that will attempt to help mitigate against tracking networks building up a profile about you as a person.

Zooming into web pages to see images and/or text easier is something many of us may already be instinctively trying to do even if the browser or website doesn't support it. This new feature is also baked into Samsung Internet version 16.0 and should instantly work when trying out the new gesture.

The last change in this update is the new web engine that the browser is based on. We already know that the browser is based on Chromium and this update brings its engine up to version M92.
