Tapping Into Your Momentum

I love having the opportunity to work with upcoming musicians.  In this masterclass clip I address ideas around the following:  Singing through the phrases, open sound versus a more focused approach with musical justification, and synchronizing the body and the musical message.  This last point is so important to me in my playing.  I like to have a certain flow of rhythmic blending between the flow of music and they way I use my body.  The drawing at the end of the clip shows how we can “ride” the momentum of air rather than “push” it through the horn.  Thanks for watching
