Kho Waterfall near Old Manali

Kho waterfall is indeed a less hiked trail near the town of Manali. The trail is available on all the offline navigation platforms like Maps.me, Mapy.cz, OsmAND and FATMAT.

It is a day hike that can be done by a fit beginner. The trail starts from near the Lazy Dog cafe in Old Manali and goes to the Glamlang campsite. The trail further keeps going parallel to the Manalsu river (left bank) and after a long 8 km of total distance in the valley comes the beautiful Kho Waterfall which acts as a tributary for the Manalsu river.

You can either come back following the same trail or add the Upper Ruar region to do a circuit route. There is a forest rest hut that can easily accommodate 10 people in two rooms. No need to carry tent with you. The hut has functional doors to keep away the wildlife and you can sleep well if you plan to camp. The nearest water source is some 15 mins away from the hut. There is no network reception in the Upper Ruar region.

Doing the circuit further ahead would be difficult in monsoons due to slippery steep slopes of few rock faces. Further, there is also a good amount of Poison Ivy on the trail.
