Jeff Pilson played bass in Dokken back then. Very good, talented and underrated bassist if you ask me. The bass in this song is very important and it is more difficult to play as it seems since beside the attitude/groove in the playing, it is all about little changes and details here and there. He also played with different bands throughout his career, such as Dio in the 90's and lately with Foreigner.
Dokken was a very good band back then (check out the concerts from this period of time), with Mick Brown on the drums, George Lynch on the guitars and of course Don Dokken singing.
